Nordic - Baltic scholarship recipients 2019: Petter Hellsing and Josefin Tingvall

In September and October, we are excited to have our 2019 Nordic - Baltic scholarship recipients stay with us, Josefin Tingvall and Petter Hellsing.

Josefin (www.josefintingvall.com) is a textile artist, visual artist and writer from Sweden. Working parallel with textile creation, documentation and text writing, the core of her practice is a poetic and material questioning.

Petter (www.petterhellsing.se) is interested in the role of textiles in our private sphere and its narrative qualities. In a number of exhibitions and public works in his native Sweden and all around the world, he has also explored the relationship between manual work and digital technology, and the possibilities of artistic work to collect and pass on stories.

The Textile Center awards six 2-month residential scholarships for textile artists in 2019 - 2021. This opportunity came via Nordic Culture Point / Nordic Baltic Mobility Programme. Artists develop and present new work in Iceland, lead a community workshop, connect to international networks and gain insight in Icelandic textile tradition and innovation.

Scholarships are awarded to textile artists based in the Nordic-Baltic region with scholarships to develop and present new work in Iceland, lead a community workshop, connect to international networks and gain insight in Icelandic textile tradition and innovation.

Welcome to the Textile Center residency in Blönduós!
