Students from the Iceland Academy of the Arts

In recent months, we have welcomed student groups from both the Icelandic University of the Arts and the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts respectively. Students stayed at the Textile Center for one week and learned how to use the equipment at the TextileLab. Our weaving expert Ragnheiður Björk Þórsdóttir and assistants gave an introduction to the textile history of Iceland and taught traditional and digital weaving. 

We also welcomed other visitors, the Tourism Department of Hólar University; teachers from VMA, the Comprehensive College in Akureyri - it's great to see how much interest there is in the Textile Center and the new facilities and equipment in the TextileLab!
