Residency fees vary depending on the season (summer/winter). Rooms are for one artist only, unless specified otherwise. Fees always include access to all work facilities and equipment (EXCEPT the Textile Lab and the equipment located there, which needs to be booked separately!), WiFi, and bills regarding housing (electricity, water, etc.), an introduction to the exhibitions in Kvennaskólinn and the Textile Museum. Basic linen, towels, and other kitchen / bathroom essentials (soap and dishwasher detergent, etc.) are also supplied. Artists are responsible for all other living expenses, like food, travel cost and work materials. Prices quoted are per month.
Please note that we are a non-profit organisation and try to keep our fees as low as possible. A standard residency costs approx. 28 - 30 Euros per day.

TC2 Residency
We have two digital looms, both located in the TextileLab:
Sample Loom: 70 cm / 28 in weaving width, 6 modules (module width 2), 1,320 threads/pixels. This smaller loom can be used without prior experience, but technical assistance is required (fee applies). No pre-warping or warp knowledge is necessary for using this loom.
Applicants must have prior experience with digital looms. The warp is not included in the rental fee, and you must be able to warp the loom yourself. When submitting your project proposal, please indicate your level of experience with digital looms.
Note that the cost of your residency fee must be paid three months prior to your arrival at the latest. Please ensure if you are applying for grants that you will know the outcome prior to attending. If you apply less than three months before your intended residency date, your residency fee must be paid as soon as you are accepted, or within reason we may extend your deadline.
Please also note that we will charge a confirmation fee of 8000 ISK (approx. 53 Euros) if your application is approved and you want to confirm your place at the residency. This fee guarantees your spot and is non-refundable.
