At the beginning of March, we hosted a three-day workshop led by experts from the Materials Design for Transition group at Politecnico di Milano in Italy, Dr. Elena Albergati and Dr. Sofia Soledad Duarte Poblete.
The workshop, “Material Dialogues,” focuses on learning how to work with environmentally friendly materials from the local environment (such as seaweed, algae, and plants) that can be used as alternatives to plastic, for example in product and fashion design. A total of 10 participants attended the course, including entrepreneurs and students from the Iceland University of the Arts and the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts.
We would like to sincerely thank Sofia and Elena for visiting and for the collaboration; it was both educational and enjoyable!
