TC2 Digital Looms
The TC2 allows designs made on Jacquard looms and beyond. The Textile Center has two digital looms:
- Sample Loom: 70cm / 28 inches weaving width, 6 modules (module width 2), 1,320 threads/pixels.
- Large Loom: 110 cm. / 36 inches weaving width, 6 modules (module width 3) , 1,320 threads/pixels
Short-term rental: The sample loom can be booked on an hourly / daily basis. Users who wish to use our sample loom do not need to have any experience or training with a digital loom. We provide guidance and assistance (fees apply - see price list); 1 meter of warp is included. Contact the TextileLab team for more info: textillab@textilmidstod.is
TC2 Residency: Artists in residence can apply for a TC2 residency, which grants exclusive access to the large loom (module width 3) for 2 week or 4 week sprints (one month max). Apply here via the application form on our website. Training and technical assistance are not included, so only experienced digital loom weavers should apply. Users must be able to independently beam, thread, and operate the TC2 software. Materials and warp for the large loom are not provided.
