On September 21 & 28, we welcomed a total 189 members of the Icelandic Handknit Association for a special visit. Groups explored the TextileLab’s facilities and learned about new opportunities and innovations in textiles, including modern techniques, sustainable materials, and creative applications of technology in fiber arts. The visit was meant to foster lively discussions and inspiration, bridging traditional handknitting heritage with forward-looking developments in the textile field.
This event connects closely with the Textile Center’s ongoing international projects, THREADS Interreg and Tracks4Crafts, both of which focus on strengthening craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainable development in the textile and cultural heritage sectors.
