Flöff is here!

Floff is a 4-member team developing solutions that give textile waste a new purpose. 

 

For the past couple of days, Margrét, Sigríður, Ólöf and Sæunn have been experimenting in the TextileLab, using equipment such as the carding machine, heat press and felt loom to turn shredded used textiles they brought with them from Reykjavík into new materials. In Iceland, around ten tons of textiles are sent to waste processing every day, of which approximately 95% are exported due to a lack of domestic solutions - it‘s a huge problem.

 

Flöff wants to change this - and so do we, which is why we welcome makers working in sustainability and textile innovation at the Textile Center.
