📅 Saturday, 06.06. 10:00–12:00
We will introduce you to our Felting Loom, a needle felting machine with many hundred needles for interlocking fibres. We use textile waste, wool, yarn scraps and other loose woven textiles to create rugs, felted fabric or sheets of wool to afterwards create some home slippers out of textile waste. Additionally we will introduce you to our carding roll and brushes for brushing your material or our textile waste to create different textures and colour blends.
The course includes:
• All essential materials — wool, base fabric, textile waste, waste yarn
• Drum Carder manual and automatic, brushes and brush bed
• Pattern for making home slippers and access to a sewing machine
Bring your knitting scraps and make your own home slippers to go!
We will introduce you into tufting, a carpet making technique, that uses tufting guns to create loops and cuts of yarn. You will learn how to use both options of creating a carpet. We will provide small tufting frames 45cmx45cm with a canvas of 50cmx50cm. Within 2 hours you will be able to tuft a small carpet and glue it to take it home with you. We will provide basic yarn, but you are welcome to bring your own knitting scraps or cones of yarn. Everyone is welcome, this course is for beginners and curious makers!
