We warmly invite you to the exhibition Women Who Inspire Us, on view in the lobby of Blönduós Swimming Pool – Íþróttamiðstöðin Blönduós, from 21–29 August 2025.
The exhibition is presented by textile artists Anka Pintar and Nina Arnuš from Škofja Loka, Slovenia, current residents at the Icelandic Textile Center – Textílmiðstöð Íslands.
Through their textile community Breja preja, they use textile art as an activist and feminist practice - celebrating women’s stories, voices, and creativity. Their work brings together generations and cultures, turning textile art and collective making into acts of solidarity, visibility, and change.
In the current exhibition Women Who Inspire Us, they embroidered portraits and gathered stories to honor the strength, importance, wisdom, and beauty of women across generations. Like in their other projects, each stitch carries memory and resistance, each thread ties them closer - to one another, to the past, and to the futures of equity and respect we dream together.
