In 2021/2022, the Textile Center awards two textile artists based in the Nordic-Baltic region with a 2-month scholarship to develop and present new work in Iceland.

Knit Competition 2020: Headwear / Blanda

DesignMarch is an annual design festival in Reykjavík, organised by the Iceland Design Center. In 2020, the Icelandic Textile Center will participate for the first time.

The FishSkin Horizon 2020 "Iceland Network Event" was held at the Textile Center in Blönduós from September 9th - 13th.

Workshop Mexican Dyes

On August 27th, our very first Mexican dye workshop was held at the Textile Center under the guidance of artist in residence Paulina Zuniga.

Scholarships for textile artists in 2019 - 2022

In 2019 - 2022, we award six scholarships for textile artists to develop and present new work in Iceland, connect to international networks and gain insight in Icelandic textile tradition and innovation. This opportunity came via Nordic Culture Point.
