Selene Gaytán Correa is a Mexican textile artist and designer interested in artisanal techniques. She has worked with textile artisans within different states in her country. The lecture “Introduction to prehispanic textiles in Mexico” aims to discuss the cultural and social value of textiles, as well as the processes used before the Spanish colonization of the Americas.

Águsta Þóra Jónsdóttir is the founder and owner of Gústa ehf, an Icelandic company selling high quality yarns and knitting designs. In this lecture, she will talk about her company and the challenges and opportunities of starting and running a textile company in Iceland. The lecture will be held twice, once in Icelandic and once in English.
